Transport
The M40 motorway which passes between London and Birmingham passes within seven miles east of Oxford, whilst the A34 road is on the west of the city and forms a part of the Western Bypass Road. A40 road links the city to London.
Bus services for travel to rural places nearby and locally in Oxford are provided by Thames Travel. Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach South Midlands are the two main coach services with in Oxford city and to London. Detailed information on the bus routes is available on Oxford council website.
Oxford has an airport called as the Oxford (Kidlington) Airport which is privately owned and caters mostly to business and commercial carriers.
